Foyer Chretien
Foyer Chretien (Christian Home) was founded by Jorel and Madeleine Rene, natives of Haiti. Madeleine is a nurse and Jorel is a pastor and educator.
The school has become "home" for six boys who once lived on the streets. In addition to the boys, Jorel and Madeleine have now assumed responsibility for the four girls and four boys of the Deluscar family whose parents have both died.
The Rene's dream is to have a facility that can house more children. Jorel operates a school for more than 700 children.
He also serves as pastor of a large, independent, Christian congregation. Jorel has been a valuable resource for the Lazarus Project since its inception.
