Work Assignment: Vacation Bible School

This team was referred to as the “Plan B” team as we had to change plans often.  They accepted the changes gracefully when the Vacation Bible School was unable to continue. One day was proclaimed a holy day (Ascension Day) by the President. This proclamation was issued at the last minute. The second day was cancelled due to the weather.  Instead of snow days, Haitian schools often have “rain” days as was the case this week.

The team didn’t mind getting wet, so, since school was closed, they took a tour around Port Au Prince.  Back at Hope House they helped complete inventory control for school supplies (fancy way of saying counting rulers and toothbrushes), tasks we appreciated having done.   

Some also tried their hand at road repair. They moved rocks and broken blocks to the potholes on Santo 3 and in the driveway. No matter the task, the Plan B team were  willing to pitch in and help.
