May 15 - 20 St. Paul, Aiken, SC
The “Rock n Block” team as you may suspect from the name, moved a lot of rocks and blocks from Hope House out to the school – this in preparation for future gardening projects for erosion control in several areas at the school. The broken bits and pieces were loaded into the wheelbarrows and those wishing to develop their muscles, rolled the loads out onto Santo 3 to dump them into the big pot holes that have appeared once again in the road.
The other major accomplishment for the team was painting of the rafters in the Chapel. This was a ‘stretch” in more ways than one for several of the team members who were a little leery of getting up on the ladders. But they gulped down their fears and away they went to work. They deserve a good pat on the back for their efforts.
Other Activities: Haiti celebrates their Flag Day on May 18. As a result the team got the added enjoyment of seeing the kids march through the school waving their Haitian flags and singing special flag day songs.
