Joyful Spirit, Bolingbrook, IL
Joyful Spirit shared a week of their blessings with us. Nine of the ten participants were repeats, with the group being divided into four who spent most of their time at LCJ and six who got the walls up for the guard house on top of the VOH water tank. They also repaired one intake and one outlet pipe so the system can again be used. Working in the hot sun on top of the tank was definitely hard work, but the group stuck to the task, getting all 4 walls completed during their time here. They also paid for all the materials that went into the house and left enough money to pour the roof, put a finish coat on the walls and install the door.
Since all but one of the team had been to FFP and since they wanted to keep their noses to the grindstone, we did not do the usual tour. All the group was at LCJ at least twice and we did walk down to Marie's as well.
The therapy team proved a real blessing at LCJ, helping to feed the children as well as to provide their usual therapy. They ministered to the staff and to Gladys as well as to the children, deeply touching all of them by the way they so generously gave themselves to the task.
