November 1-5, 2009 The St. Andrew's, Port St. Lucie, team led by Pastor Dave Dangerfield left today after spending five days with us. Their main work project consisted of moving the items stored in the cottage in order to get things ready for the team that is coming to do the renovations. This also involved the dirty work of tearing out the cabinets. And, if they did not get dirty enough doing that job, they also adopted Santo 3 as their stretch of "Haitian Highway" to clean--and I must say, Santo 3 has never looked better!
Despite their short stay, the team was also able to visit all our ministry sites, as well as Food for the Poor. Three of the five team members were in Haiti for the first time, so a lot of time was spent introducing the team to the Haitian culture and orienting them to our Lazarus organization. Besides Megan Dangerfield, Pastor Dave's daughter who is a member of Advent, a retired Episcopal priest, Bob Carey was also a member of the team. Two members of St. Andrew, Rob Sharot and Winnie Weiser rounded out the team
