May 11 - 16, 2009
St. Paul, Aiken, SC

Bill Blosser's team of 11 from St. Paul, Aiken (and other places!) spent an inspiring 5 days with us from May 11-16.  For all but two, this was their first trip to Haiti.

One of their main work projects was sorting and distributing shoes to grades 3 through Philo at the Village of Hope.  Sizes were scarce toward the end, but thanks to their efforts, every student at VOH received a pair.  In addition to the shoe distribution, the team spent most of a day cleaning up the land the on which the FFP houses had been built for the employees and neighbors of Hope House.  They also cleaned up  the interior of the houses and painted two rooms in the existing house, getting everything ready for the residents.  While they were there, FFP came by to take pictures of the recipients and hand over the keys.

The team also spend a moving morning at Little Children for Jesus where they hung additional fly repellent bags and interacted with the children.  All were touched by the loving smiles of the children.  While they missed meeting Marie, they were able to visit her school and orphanage, as well as visit Food for the Poor.
