UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS FOR VILLAGE OF HOPE STUDENTS There are presently 12 students from Village Of Hope School attending University in Haiti. Six of these students are in their 2nd year and six are in their first year of college. Three are studying pre-med, two nursing, two computer science, one education (teaching) and four in engineering. The students that have completed their first year did very well. Some of their professors have said, “you must have gone to a good school because you have a good foundation for college”. This certainly says a lot about the education they received at Village Of Hope. These students started at VOH in pre kindergarten and attended school all of the way through the Philo class, which is a college preparatory class. Students must take this class after graduation from high school. When visiting Haiti for our annual board meeting, the Lazarus board met with some of these students. The board was very impressed with their appreciation of the sponsorships that enable them to attend VOH and now college. They all stated how much they are thankful to God; the people of the USA and of course their sponsors. They also said when they graduate from university, they want to return and help those in the community they are from. This is giving back in the finest way. If Haiti is going to improve, we must continue to educate the youth. A university scholarship for each student is $4000 per year. This pays for housing, tuition, books and transportation. What a wonderful way to invest in the future of Haiti. Partial donations toward a scholarship are also possible as these funds can be pooled for an individual scholarship. May God continue to bless these students and their sponsors. For more info or to Sponsor a University Student
